Meet Your Instructor:

SHOUH YOUNG

From a young age, I loved letting my imagination run wild while drawing. But I didn’t have access to an environment that cultivated my talents and encouraged me to pursue a life as an artist. I initially dismissed my art as a hobby until my classmates praised my work, and the idea of a future in art began to bloom.

After completing OCAD’s Industrial Design program, challenging personal and cultural expectations, and forging my identity through my artistic journey, Young Guns was born! Shouh means “to grow, to facilitate” and it has been my mission to share the joy of art.

Young Guns is more than an art school; it’s a haven for young artists, a place where mentorship thrives, cohorts of curious minds are formed, and dreams are nurtured—exactly what I felt was missing during my artistic journey.

After 15 years of uplifting students and sending them off to prestigious art programs worldwide, Young Guns now introduces an online program—Young Guns Academy.

Imagine being able to dive into the creative world, no matter where you are, and connect with a community that shares your passion—Young Guns Academy makes fine arts education accessible from anywhere.

Through the online courses, I’ll share my journey as an artist and teacher—no intimidating or fancy art lingo—just real talk about the strategies and techniques that helped me survive and thrive in the art world.
